tie a yellow ribbon...

The Filipino people, out on the streets, being united as one... ONLY Pres. Cory Aquino can do that.
As i turned the tv on when i woke up, the crowd in Ayala just waiting for the former President's convoy to pass by was reminiscent of that of People Power or EDSA Dos. I was only a year old when People Power happened, but i was old enough to participate in EDSA2... and it was certainly a memorable experience. Just being in the middle of it all. opening your eyes to alot of stuff you've never seen before... anyway.
When i first heard of our former President's death, it didnt really register to me right away. It was like, i was in disbelief that my brain refused to even think about it. i was even asked of what i'll always remember about Madam Cory, and i just answered something really superficial. Because my brain still didnt believe that she was gone.
But i went home, i saw a tribute and thats when it hit me. Thats when i finally realized that someone who indirectly made a great impact in my life had passed away. I've never even met her. Yet seeing how greatly affected the whole nation was,,,, seeing how much she contributed to the country,, to our lives... how much of an impact she left on all of us......amazing.
Words cannot even suffice how much she gave the Filipino people. I think it was Jim Paredes or Ted Failon (i'm not sure, i was just listening to them talk while the tv was on and i was doin something else) who said that Pres Cory loved the country, yet she didn't love power. and that's what i think is great about her. She was once our Commander in Chief, yet she never drowned herself in the fact that she was the most powerful person in the country. she wasnt like the type who'd get so addicted to power as soon as theyve tasted it. She gave us freedom, she gave us peace... She was one of those people who showed us the power of Prayer, and what unity can do.
As the next Presidential Elections is getting near,, i do hope that everyone will NOT forget what Pres Cory had fought for... what WE all fought for. in EDSA1 & EDSA2.
Pres Cory Aquino made a great impact in our lives. She will forever be OUR President. She will forever be remembered by the Filipino People. That's just how great she is.

something we should always remember...

"Cinderella walked on broken glass,
Sleeping Beauty let a whole lifetime pass.
Belle fell in love with a hideous beast,
Jasmine married a common thief.
Ariel walked on land for love and life,
Snow White barely escaped a knife.
It was all about blood, sweat, and tears
Because love means facing your biggest fears."

if money grew on trees, i'd buy all these right now..

...and since my birthday is coming up, all the more i want these things i'm wishing for!

altho im sure i'd end up buying one of these for myself anyway...

"The Essentials" is different though... these are stuff that, well, are essential / practical coz it's the stuff that i really use but always run out of (beauty products), or i lost (ipod) or i just want a new one of (laptop, accessories..)

and isnt it fun to go online and look at all the stuff u want and hope and
pray that u can have? then one day, you just end up owning one (or some, or all) and when u look back, u'd be like "wow, i cant believe i have this na"... and all the more that item will be special :)

so anyway... here's my wishlist of the moment :)

i have a thing for designer bags... theyre just so nice!!! i'm happy with my fair share of bags already, esp my vintage ones,, but i cant help but drool over these:
(1 & 3) Balenciaga City/Motorcycle Bag in bubblegum pink, yellow, or blue( 2) Goyard st louis pm (4) YSL clutch (5) YSL Muse (6) Louis Vuitton tote from the Beach Collection '09 (7) Pink Chanel (8) Louis Vuitton Neverfull from the Stephen Sprouse collection

i loooove shoes. and since i have big feet, everytime i find something i like that fits me, i buy it right away. and i believe that nice shoes can spice up ay outfit,, altho it can also break it. some shoes that i'm lusting over now are shoes from these collections
(1) Christian Louboutin (2) YSL tributes (3) Fendi platforms (4) Alexander McQueen (5) Dior

Being the kikay slash gadget girl that i am,, these are the things that i'm not lusting over, but theyre the ones that i really use and have, but i just get seem to have enough of
(1) Shu Uemura cleansing oil Original Formula since 1960 -- the only thing (aside from the brow manicure) from Shu that i'm not allergic to, and it's what i usually use to remove all the make up on my face after taping
(2) pink Skull Candy Headphones -- theyre just so cute!!
(3) Accessories from Arnel Papa or Kenneth Jay Lane -- the words i live by when it comes to accessories is that, the bigger, the better. big earrings, big rings, statement cuffs and necklaces are some stuff im obsessed with and cant seem to have enough of
(4) Neatnix Jewelry Organizers -- it's what i use to organize my accessories.. and well, since i keep adding new accessories, i also have to keep adding these organizers!
(5) iTouch -- i lost my ipod nano a month or 2 ago :( i have yet to buy a new ipod, altho i still have my old one so it's what i use now.. this one is more for me to buy myself tho. haha

(7) Kiehl's toiletries -- i looove their products coz its very light. not in the picture is the Kiehl's Light Weight Body Lotion which i looooove.. :)

...

hate is not the opposite of love. because hating someone means you care enough to feel so strongly about the person. so the real opposite of love is indifference. to simply not care at all shows how irrelevant that person is to you

People Come Into Your Life for a Reason

People Come Into Your Life for a Reason
By Alvin C. Romer

This is a personal analogy on the cause and effect of the true friendship based on an original idea by author, Jean Do minque Martin.

There are motives for everything. Juxtaposed against the backdrop of advantageous endeavor, people leverage and jockey for position all the time, and often its at the behest of friendship. Do you believe that people
come into your life for a reason,
a season or a lifetime? Original author Jean Dominique Martin when gathering information for her mindset on this subject, said it best by leaving lasting impressions that give
homage to the fickle nature of misplaced intent when it comes to options in choosing friends. What does friendship mean to you? How well do you choose who would be your closest allies? There are reasons why people are essential in our lives. I have mixed emoti
ons about people that have come and gone in my life…there were those who left because the level of intimacy was based on unbalanced time-sharing and other reasons for not maintaining something that could stick and stay. What bothers me more is when their mannerisms change, they become incognito, and make themselves scarce once they feel that
things are not conducive to their train of thought as opposed to seeing how the friendship can be saved for the long term. Yes, people have motives that they tend to hold close to vest and out of your sight. Now comes the time for me to assess those that fit this category. I’ve always felt that when you know which one it is, you will know what to do
for that person. You will not be caught unawares because you are alert, aligned and less arrogant. Check my logic out here why people come into your life for a reason.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes th
ey die, or fade into anonymity. Sometimes circumstances dictate that they go in anothe
r direction leaving you to wonder; sometimes they walk away, uncaring and unwilling. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand, hoping that enmity hasn’t reared its ugly head. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. Reasons can go against you…but when it does, all you can do is assess it for what it’s worth, monitor subsequent correspondences, make your decision and now it Is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON. They may only be there for a short period of time based
on premeditated agendas; they may have motives that are not condoned by you, or becau
se your turn has come to share with them in growing or learning new initiatives for the future. If all things are good, they may bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may introduce you to new routines and techniques that you have never experienced. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season -- they move on. Seasonal tidings with this situation usually deal with those that are going through changes, can’t cope with certain situations that cause them to step outside of comfort zones, or are unwilling to take chances. Other seasonal fold readily recognizes their own kind, and will not hesitate to cut you loose.

LIFETIME relationships are harder to recognize for the moment, but with time can be the best choice you can make. But how many people do you know are willing to persevere for the long haul? Find one and I guarantee you will have him or her as someone trustworthy. Life timers teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. They accept you for what you are, do not prematurely judge you, do not have any inhibitions about taking chances for the betterment of the relationship, and surely feel that compatibility is something
that is assessed as you go, not at the spur of the moment. They don't adhere to conditions and will be there during the zero hour. There’s GOT to be something that you can learn from this type of person. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. This is Agape Love at its core..the type of love that God is. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Silence do
esn’t supposed to be as ominous to cut deep like the sharpest knife. To be cut loose dangling trying to fathom how it went south is to understand that directional change does not have to be defined by ill winds and misplaced logic, but by common sense and discernible options working for the best.
I thank all the people I’ve met in my lifetime who have lent me their ears, allowed me to belong, gave me love and let me love them back. I’m all the better because somewhere, somehow, and someone have given me hope that friendship is not fleeting, integrity is intrusive, and that good intent coupled with works can be a true embodiment of camaraderie for as long as it is deemed necessary to embrace a true friend! And for those that I’ve called a friend at some point in my life, you will always be one…but know that you will not be forgotten.
